Title: The "In Heaven's Eyes" Project Progress
Post by: Sparkle Foxie on November 11, 2013, 02:18:18 AM
It’s been such a long time since I’ve posted an update for the “In Heaven’s Eyes” project, so I thought it would be better to start a new thread to track progress instead of grave digging the old one! I wanted to repost the goals of IHE and what it’s all about, what we have so far, what I’d still love to see, and how everyone can be involved.

For those who are new to the forum, IHE is a compilation book of manga, verses, testimonies and helpful references with the goal of encouraging and helping victims of physical or sexual abuse.  It started a few years back with a story idea, and I felt led to open it up to anyone else interested in helping. The target audience is mainly teen girls, but my prayer is that it can be useful to any age group who has either experienced or knows someone who has experienced any kind of abuse.

So, after presenting it online to a couple of websites and CM, we started putting together a collection of works and ideas. Here’s the list of what has been proposed and the progress:
(If anyone originally proposed an idea but hasn’t kept in contact for a couple years, it might not be included. Just let me know if you had an idea/work in progress that you wanted included and still are working on!)

Manga:
“Para Siempre” by Inkhana and Foxie (Complete)
“Tamar” by Sarah YT (Complete)
“Today, Dinah” by Kiri, Otaku and Sarah YT (In Progress)
“In Heaven’s Eyes” by Foxie (In Progress)
“Burn” by Inkhana (In Progress)
“Care”? by Sarah YT (Complete) (Your 2 page illustration, I’m not sure if it had a title.)

Illustrated Verses:
Isaiah 41:10 by KittieMarie (Complete)
1 Corinthians 1:30 by Diamond Dragon (Complete)
Psalm 91:4 by Scumash (Complete)

FOR ALL ARTIST/WRITERS INVOLVED:
When I moved to the States and sold my former computer, I lost some files. I really need help getting some things back, as well as making sure that all ready-for-print files are the right size. I have small pages of almost everything, but what I don’t have for ANYTHING are the print sizes. So what I really need from everyone who has finished a work (Inkhana, Sarah, KittieMarie, Diamond Dragon, and Scumash) are those files. I know it’s a lot to ask, and printing is still quite a ways away, but it would be nice to have those and know that a project truly is complete. I need them in 300dpi, this size:

I would appreciate that very much =D I’ll be PMing you all my email address, it hasn’t changed though if you already had it.

What IHE still needs:
•   Prayer!!
•   We’re still open to any kind of submission, whether it be a story, manga, testimony or illustrated verse. We definitely need more verses. Really anything that has to do with love, healing, forgiveness, purity, even peace. I can give examples if needed, and I’m happy even with calligraphy or a pretty page with just text if anyone would like to do that. Final versions need to be 300dpi with the size from the link above, whether it’s ink, tone or color is all ok.
•   If you guys have any ideas on how to make this project better or something else that you would like to contribute I’d love to hear it!

I want everyone to know that to be involved in this project, you don’t have to be either an abuse victim or feel like you know a lot about the subject. I just ask for compassionate hearts who want to share Christ’s love with the hurting. If you have an idea but feel like it might not relate or fit, just let me know and we can work on it together. I’ll do my best to write here with any news on this project. And thanks so much to everyone for the amazing support that you have given to this project so far. It wouldn’t be anything without you.
 :)

I've had another idea for a short story, but don't have the time to make it into a manga.  Is anyone interested in drawing/inking/toning?  It involves drawing a lot of women in modern day setting... not sure on length, but if anyone is interested I can whip up a quick summary and dialogue.

A long while back I had a couple of people who were interested in illustrating a story if I were to give them a script. I don't think that they are still able to, but an offer might pop up again. So, if it's not too much work for you, Sarah, if you feel like your story can be used to touch hearts I'd say to work on it and keep it ready just in case. You never know, maybe someone will step up and take the art part on :-) We have so many talented artists here. My prayer is that those who are intimidated by the subject matter of this project will be led to get involved.

That's a good idea, Foxie ^_^ I will try to write it down before the end of the month.

I'll be interested in working on it, but I don't know if I would have the time. >.< How long is it?

^_^;; I don't quite know yet sorry Gabby; it's sort of a story that can be scaled up or down. One moment I was thinking of making it a novel length, and then limiting it to 20 pages.  I haven't written it down yet (that's the weekend's job) but I'll post it up when its done.
